Pretty In Pink

Spring has finally arrived, and not a second too soon! The sun has started to peep out and bestow upon us its long-awaited for warmth, and if you close your eyes and concentrate enough you can hear the voice of the Fashion Gods whispering ‘it’s time for some change’. It’s time to put away your bulky coats, oversized sweaters and winter boots and replace them with flowy skirts, trendy trenches and kitten heels. Ready or not, here spring comes!

The arrival of spring means the return of florals (groundbreaking) and pastels, and I’m not one to complain. I usually gravitate towards light and airy collections, which is why I immediately fell in love with these uber feminine pieces from H&M (they aren’t available to purchase online yet, but they are available in store). The pink blazer ($69.99 CND) is the perfect spring piece, and can easily be transitioned from day to night. Pair with a skirt like I did (great for the office or meetings), or throw over a white t-shirt and jeans for a more casual look. I’ve already worn this skirt ($49.99 CND) a few times, and found it looks great with a simple t-shirt and white converse sneakers.

The best thing about these pieces is their versatility. I’m always inspired by outfits that blend formal and casual in an effortless way, so don’t be afraid to mix and match with more basic pieces in your wardrobe.
