Holiday Gift Guide

Every year my intention is to have my holiday shopping complete by the end of November, but somehow that wasn’t the case this year …or last. Last minute shopping can be stressful, especially when you’re trying to find a meaningful gift for someone special. Whether you’re in a budget, shopping for someone who has everything or simply need a little guidance this year, I’ve put together my last minute holiday gift guide for him & her that is sure to land you on the nice list for years to come …or at least give you the title of best gifter ever.

GALS

Tealeaves – This is hands down my favourite tea brand and one that I recommend without hesitation. When I first tried Tealeaves years ago I was quite surprised how different their blends taste compared with others companies. Hand-blended for Michelin chefs, each tea has its own unique, bold, delicious flavour that is a step above anything I’ve tried.

Happy Face Roller – This bad boy is part of my daily skincare routine and makes a great gift for beauty lovers of all ages. Unlike other rollers on the market this one features genuine rose quartz, and did I mention this is by a Canadian company? Win win!

Walton Wood Farm – If you don’t know already, let me introduce you to my absolute favourite, all-natural, Canadian beauty company! Not only do their products smell incredible and work wonders, but the collection names are hilarious, witty and down right awesome. Their products are the perfect gift for anyone on your list. The Winter’s a B*tch Sugar Scrub is extremely fitting for this time of year, their bath salts are a great way to unwind after a long day and their Whipped Body Creams (available in the Week from Hell and “Me” Time formulas) are fun to use and nourish dry skin.

Spa My Blend Gift Card – Give the gift of an experience. It’s no surprise how much I love Spa My Blend by Clarins at The Ritz Carlton Toronto and with this gift card gives the lucky recipient will be able to enjoy a day of pampering at thee best spa!

Hair Clips – I have a pouch full of hair clips and find myself rocking them almost daily. From the oh-so popular pearl clips to leopard print to dolled up bobby pins you can’t go wrong with this choice. If you’re shopping on a budget check our Ardene as they often have these clips 4 for $10.

Jewelry – Indigo carries some great, simple jewelry brands like Jenny Bird and Foxy Originals.

Scarf – Indigo to the rescue yet again. While scarves may seem like an impersonal gift, find something that matches the personality and style of the person you are shopping for. If they rock neutrals on the reg, go with something like this Love and Lore Pleated Scarf in ivory (there is also this rose version for those with a more feminine style) or is they prefer pops of colour I suggest this citron scarf or Silky Foulard Scarf.

Zara Headband – Kate Middleton was seen rocking a Zara headband similar to this recently, and I’m sure this style has popped up on your newsfeed more than once. I love how full this headband is, making it a simple statement piece.

Pajamas – Pj’s are never a bad idea. Some of my favourite pieces at the moment are these ones in floral, these ones in botanical and these ones.

GENTS

Smart Lighting – Calling all techies! Smart Lighting was number 1 on Nitin’s Christmas list and after trying out the Philips Hue Personal Wireless Lighting (currently on sale at Best Buy) and the WiZ smart bulb I can understand why! We installed a WiZ smart bulb in Evan’s room recently and it’s incredible. Not only can we control the settings from our phone but we can create schedules and enjoy countless different colours. My favourite for Evan is the nighttime mode, which gradually dims over a 30 minute time period. It’s one less thing to worry about in the evening and keeps us all on track. I’m also loving the Philips Hue Personal Wireless Lighting in installed in our family room and controlled from a main hub. I’m obsessed and will be sharing a full blog post soon on our smart lighting because it’s definitely a game changer.

Chemex Coffeemaker – The ultimate choice for any coffee lover (guy or gal), this manual pour-over coffeemaker not only makes a delicious cup of coffee but it’s design is part of MoMA’s permanent collection.

Walton Wood Farm – Ah, where to start. As I mentioned above, I’m obsessed with Walton Wood Farm’s branding. The Men Don’t Stink soap bar is a great stocking stuffer (Nitin loves this scent) and the hand rescues are always a great idea for dry winters. The solid colognes are the perfect gift for any guy. They smell incredible, are carry-on approved and work well for the office, to keep in the car or on your dresser.

Ridge Wallet – This simplistic wallet comes with a lifetime guarantee and features RFID blocking and an integrated money clip.

Weekender Bag – This Dagne Dover Landon Carryall is perfect for travel or day-to-day use. Whether business or pleasure, this bag is available in 5 sizes, is extremely durable and comes with all the fixings of a perfect carryall. I have large size in Dark Moss and use it whenever I’m out of town for more than a night. Nitin also uses it when he travels for business.

YETI Tumbler – One of the most popular tumblers on the market right now, this YETI Tumbler is great for anyone who …uh, drinks. Coffee, water, beer ..this tumbler will keep all your drinks ice cold or piping hot.

Mens Super Soft Scarf – Simple, classic and timeless. Need I say more?

Unicorn Toys – I was introduced to this brand at the Square One Holiday Market and couldn’t help picking up a few products. My dad retired this year as an Aeronautical Engineer so I got him Airship Mechanical Gears as a fun gift to keep him busy. I also picked up Paris & Plane Wooden Music Box for my 7 year old niece who simply adores Paris, and the Marble Squad for Nitin to build for Evan.

Saxx Underwear – I don’t know what it is about this underwear but men are obsessed. Apparently once you go Saxx you don’t go back, which is 100% true in Nitin’s case. He swears by this brand.

Happy shopping lovies!

xo, Kiki

Great post. I didn’t know a lot about smart lighting but my husband talks about it a lot and I like how it works in baby room. I look for the one you said you use in Evan’s room and couldn’t find so I got the Philips Hue one for my husband and to surprise him with at Christmas. Thanks for all the help.
