With the holidays around the corner can we talk about toddler gift giving for a moment? If there is one thing most parents out there appreciate it’s a practical gift. I’m not talking diapers, I’m talking fun, useful, educational gifts that serve a purpose. Fisher-Price is one of my most trusted brands for Evan. Not only do they have 90 years experience creating some of the best-selling toys of all time, but they’re always producing innovative and practical new products that are perfect for little ones development. Their toys help kids build essential skills such as hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills, with their newest Scotchi Fisher-Price Educational Velcro Puzzles (available at Walmart) being another big win for Fisher-Price.
Evan has been playing with these velcro puzzles non-stop. I rotate his toys around once per week but these puzzles are a staple so we’ve been keeping one upstairs in Evan’s bedroom and one downstairs in our family room. With the Cute Animals My First Matching Game I show Evan a model card of an animal, we look for those animal pieces and then connect them together on the play mat. He loves playing with the velcro and learning about the different animal names and sounds. He’s also super engaged in this puzzle which makes my heart so happy!
With the Big and Small My First Sorting Game there are two levels. The first level contains green cards which depict the same animal on the card (one big, one small), and the second contains yellow cards which show two different animals to match up. We usually play this puzzle multiple times a day and I find the repetition great for Evan’s learning.
Both the sorting and matching puzzles are awesome gift ideas for kids anywhere from toddler (12 months+) to preschool. With the winter months fast approaching these kinds of puzzles are great for parents because it keeps little ones occupied inside when it’s too cold to be out. They’re educational and fun for kids, win-win …and the perfect size to tuck away into your storage bin (another win)!
Speaking of storage bins, this Fisher-Price Lion Foldable Storage Box is absolutely perfect for Evan’s toys. It’s sturdy, holds a generous amount and boasts the irresistible Fisher-Price lion on the front (I can’t resist this lion!). I initially had this in our family room but moved it up to Evan’s bedroom because the design lends itself well to his room. We keep Evan’s stuffed animals, toys and puzzle in here and there’s still plenty of room for more (it fits much more than I expected). Evan’s currently in the stage of emptying and refilling, so needless to say this box gets a lot of use. The sturdiness and durability is tried, true and tested, so if you’re looking for a parent-approved toddler gift option here it is!
I’m always on the hunt for great new products for Evan. A nightlight has been on my list for some time now, and while I know Evan doesn’t need one at the moment I want to be prepared for when he does. With most of my friends they noticed their kids started getting scared of the dark around the age of 2, but this varies from child to child. We added this adorable Fisher-Price Lion LED Nightlight in Evan’s room and while we haven’t had to turn it on yet we all appreciated the fun design. I also love how it’s an LED light (more efficient).
These Fisher-Price essentials are all available at Walmart. Whether you’re looking to purchase these for your own home or as a gift, you can’t go wrong with any of these Fisher-Price staples. I’m putting together holiday gift baskets for Evan’s little buddies and you better believe these are all going in them!
Happy shopping lovies!
