Welcome Spring! H&M Long Shirt Dress

Spring has finally arrived! The sun is shining, the birds are singing and a quick walk outside no longer requires Sorel’s and a parka. Hallelujah! We had a few bursts of warm weather in Toronto this year, all sadly followed by either a mound of snow, an ice storm or freezing cold weather. Having lived in Canada my entire life I can handle our winters, but when the cold starts trickling into April something’s got to give.

The beautiful 20+ degree weather this weekend was a total mood-changer. I tend to stick with a fairly neutral wardrobe in the winter, and as I tucked away my piles upon piles of black pants and cream, white & grey sweaters I happily made room for an array of spring dresses, jumpers and shorts.

One of my most beloved pieces of the season so far is this H&M Long Shirt Dress, which looks great on its on or with a pair of jeans or leggings. I wore this piece as a dress over the weekend and paired it with a simple black and white belt that I pulled off one of my Altuzarra dresses from a couple seasons ago. This BCBG Braided Leather Tassle Belt and this ASOS Reiss Swift Leather Bow Tie Belt would look great with this dress, or for a more flowy look leave your belt at home. I accessorized with a pair of strappy black sandals (similar here and here), my Dior sunglasses and Forever 21 earrings. Shoulder-dusters have been a huge runway trend for spring/ summer and I love the colour and shape of this pair from Forever 21 (sold out, but I also love these and these).
