What happens when this seasons IT pant meets H&M’s Coachella-inspired bustier; a fun and playful look ready to take on the world! Paperbag-waist pants are one of those pieces that seem hard to pair but in reality these bad boys can match up with quite a lot in your existing wardrobe. The question is …what? For starters, a key point to note with paperbag-waist pants is the importance of keeping balance by pairing them with a fitted shirt. As these pants are high-waisted and baggy it’s important to offset that with something nice and snug, be it a fun tank, simple tee or crazy crop top. I love the colours and jacquard pattern of this H&M bustier and decided to tone down the rest of the outfit with more neutral colours including a small black and white Kate Spade POP clutch (again, creating balance with a smaller purse size) and black Altuzarra boots.
When I saw Gap’s rendition of the paperbag-waist pant I couldn’t resist the urge to stop, drop and online shop! I love the unique colour, the casual elegance, and hello, what better way to spruce up your wardrobe than with a 40% off deal at the Gap (Gap always has great online sales to take advantage of).
TIPS
- These pants fit larger so I recommend going down a size
- To spruce up the pants from daytime to evening swap out the belt for a more colourful option and bring out those accessories!
