With so many baby products on the market it’s getting harder to determine what’s actually essential for your little one. Since being pregnant I’ve been sharing some of my favourite baby finds with you guys, and I’m excited to introduce you guys to another fabulous company, Ellie Ears.
Ellie Ears offers positional support pillows that provide head and body support for infants and children, and are helpful in the treatment of plagiocephaly and torticollis. If you’re like me, I had no idea what these two words meant up until a couple months ago where after attending the baby show and listening to new moms I realized how common these conditions really are.
In simple teams, plagiocephaly, also know as flat head syndrome is characterized by the flattening of one side of the skull and surprisingly enough it affects nearly 1 in 2 infants. When there is repeated pressure on an infants skull (this can be caused by prolonged pressure on their head as a result of sleeping on their back, being in the car seat, laying down for playtime) their soft skulls can become flattened. Torticollis on the other hand is when your little one has a twisted neck, or difficulty turning his/ her neck.
With both of these conditions being extremely common with newborns I went on the hunt for preventative measures and this is when I came across Ellie Ears. Designed by mother-of-4 and healthcare professional Chrissy Mouland, these support pillows provide many benefits including head, neck and spine support, portability and comfort …just to name a new.
On a mission to help her 3rd and 4th children find comfort while seated upright, Mouland created this pillow to replace rolled blankets and towels and to provide the optimal level of comfort and care for her little ones. Highly recommended by healthcare professionals and mamas throughout the country, I can’t wait to try this pillow out on my little guy.
Ellie Ears has taken off over the years and also offers beautiful gift sets featuring hooded towels as well as sensory and teething toys made with organic maplewood. With a range of patterns to choose from (I couldn’t resist the penguins pieces), style meets practicality with this trusted, mama-approved brand.
A big thanks to Ellie Ears for sharing their incredible products with me!
